Emily and Will are such a sweet couple!! They planned their beautiful Taubman Museum of Art Wedding from afar. Being located in Northern VA and planning a wedding in Roanoke VA must have been a bit of a challenge, but they did not let that stop them from creating an elegant, classic wedding with gorgeous details! I am going to let these two tell you a little more about their story in their words!
How did they meet?
Emily: Will and I met while getting our MBA at The College of William & Mary. I was a commuter, so I did not stay in town on weeknights or weekends. Will finally convinced me to stay around one weekend – I agreed and planned to stay with a friend. We went to a local bar to hang out with some friends and while sitting there I received a text from Will informing me he was no longer coming out that night and would be staying in to get some rest. Needless to say, I was really upset and immediately regretted staying in town. Not even five minutes later, Will surprised me by coming to the bar (the text had been a joke all along), and the rest is history. Let’s just say I was not a commuter student much longer. 🙂
What were first impressions?
William: Since we met in class, I remember thinking how intelligent Emily was and how nervous I was to talk to her.
Emily: Wow he’s tall (he’s 6’5″ after all), and strikingly handsome! I was immediately drawn to his determination and competitive spirit.
How did he propose?
Emily: On our two-year anniversary, Will and I did the very same hike (Shockey’s Knobb, Winchester, VA) we did when he asked me to be his girlfriend two years prior. It was 10 degrees outside with a foot of snow on the ground, but we managed. I complained the ENTIRE time and wanted to quit the entire way up. Little did I know there was a prize waiting for me at the top – when we got to the top, we propped the phone up on a tree to take a picture (which I now know was a video) and he asked me to marry him!
Emily and Will were so loving towards each other and towards their family and friends. They absolutely couldn’t keep their eyes off one another! Their first look was one of my favorite moments because of how wowed they were by one another.
